Kyle Douglas Music Review on One Stop Country!

Prestonsburg, KY native Kyle Douglas’ backstory is one that many would say would make a great country song and he brings it to his debut EP Clean Hands. The EP, produced by two-time Grammy Award Winner Rebecca Lynn Howard and Elisha Hoffman, stays on the catchy side overall as it pulls together elements of country and rock, but it’s within the lyrics that the true depth sits. From the start, “Speed Of Life” uses the natural rawness of his voice to grip us and pull us into the emotionally charged lyric that reminisces back; something he also does with the lead single “Go,” which focuses on mutually ending a relationship. As you press forward, it is his distinguishable vocals that quickly become the signature whether he is singing about love on the softer paced “What Kind Of Love,” or on the fun, sing-a-long “Daddy’s Daughter” in which he paints the picture of the girl who has grease on her nails from working in her daddy’s body shop, is good with a gun, can tell a dirty joke with the best of them, etc… [Read full review]
